First Estate Series Release: Gentleman Farmer and Future Estate Series Pumpkin Beer done Lickinghole Creek Style

One of the distinguishing features of Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery is that we have the privilege of working on a 220 acre farm everyday.  When we began the process of planning for brewing on the farm, one of the things we wanted to do was use ingredients that we grew on the farm in our beers.  And so the Estate Series was born.

Lickinghole Creek’s Estate Series of beers features ingredients that were grown on the farm the brewery is housed on.  Our first release in this series is Gentleman Farmer Fresh Hop Estate Ale.  Gentleman Farmer features hops that were grown on our farm specifically for the purpose of making this one beer.  We just sent several pallets of it out to the distributor last week so if you’re in the Richmond area make sure to ask for it.  It’s a 7.5% ABV Pale Ale with a fantastic malt backbone and great floral hop character.  We only make one batch of it once a year, so get it while you can.

The next edition of our Estate Series is our Pumpkin Ale.  It’s an 8% ABV Belgian Style Pumpkin Ale made with Pumpkins that we grew on the farm.  The process for our Pumpkin Beer began this past spring when we began preparing the pumpkin patch.  We planted several hundred seeds, fought off hordes of deer, turkeys and countless insects in order to bring this beer to fruition.   We will be releasing it  November 16th at the farm.
